Have you tried a soft reset?

  • Many problems can be solved by performing a so-called ‘soft reset’. None of your data will be lost when you do this, but all active apps will be closed and your Apple iPhone 5S will be rebooted.

Is flight mode enabled?

  • Flight mode prevents any connectivity, including phone calls, internet etc.
  • If an airplane icon shows in the status bar, you have to disable it. Go to Settings and then uncheck Airplane Mode.

Is mobile data connectivity deactivated?

  • If mobile data connectivity is disabled, it will prevent you from using mobile internet, e-mail and other data services.

Is your internet connection slow?

  • If your mobile internet seems slow, you might have configured the wrong settings, or are in an area with poor 3G coverage.

Issues regarding making and/or receiving calls?

  • If you have issues with making or receiving calls, you might be suffering from bad network coverage. This is most likely as a result of your location, for example a garage or concrete building. See whether a change of location helps.
  • If a change of location doesn’t help, check the network coverage in your area.
